Qantas is a good airline. Economy is called cattle class for a reason! The staff were great, the food was okay (not vegetarian option on one leg), the seats slightly cramped (hence the try and fly Premium Economy or up comment) but that is the airplane design, not a Qantas fault. Lots of plastic waste in Economy - plates, cups, cutlery all plastic.

Not a great flight. A number of issues on this 5 hour flight from Sydney to Perth, the most concerning the lack of room both leg room and width very cramped for such a long flight of 5 hours, you don't have room in the loo to even turn around. The next issue was that I ended up with a very tired and sore back, Chairs do not have much back support. Next is the lack of variety in food served, dinned was very basic tomato pasta with chorizo, no vegies of any sort just a very small amount of Pasta.
A very small plane the Boeing 737 for such a long flight. Generally felt that I was cheated out of my $350 odd dollars that I paid for the trip.

I have been a Qantas frequent flyer member for nearly 30 years and have always preferred to use Qantas particularly for overseas travel if they flew to my destination. However the service has progressively deteriorated to the point where it is now effectively a budget no-frills service at a full service price. They should stop pretending to be otherwise. You might as well use a budget airline and save the money as I will in future. You can’t request an available seat before checking in unless you pay extra and food service is very slow and runs out of menu items leaving little or no choice. I am saddened that what was a quality airline has sunk so low!

I flew out on a Tuesday afternoon and I was able to sleep on the flight which is unusual for me. I arrived in London with minimal jet lag. The service by the Qantas flight attendants was first class. I took a similar flight on the way home and it was even better.

Simple and quick. Evening flight with wine, olives and cheese. You couldn’t ask for a more relaxing 45mins in the air.
