Excellent flat bed seats. Wonderful service. Enjoyed the Bombay- Muscat flight.
However, Muscat _ Bahrain flight was not upto the mark.
Vegetarian meals not served though booked in advance while reserving the ticket itself.
Wrote to Oman Air customer service 10 days back. No response. Such customer relations departments spoil the best organisations.Pity

I chose Oman at the last moment because my agent got a good deal for me. honestly I didnt have very high expectations from them, but, it turned out to be a good experience overall. I traveled economy and it was as cramped as it is on most carriers these days. So the long haul Muscat-Manchester route was tiring. The food and drinks menu wasnt very elaborate but the portions were fairly sumptuous, and they obliged with repeat drinks. The in-flight entertainment was average, but the quality of their ear-phones is pathetic and many of them dont work, and you wont even get a replacement easily, especially if the flight is full. Better to carry your own earphones.
Best part of the flight was :
1. its convenient timing from Delhi to Manchester via Muscat - 10am departure from Delhi and 7pm arrival in Manchester, so you dont have to stay awake in the night.
2. Muscat has a brand new airport and not very crowded so there are plenty of recliners to rest.

Our return flight from Sri Lanka was cancelled and was rescheduled to be 3 days later with an extra stop over (journey was 4h longer than planned). In addition, the flight to Sri Lanka was also amended with an extra stop over and ended up being 6h longer than what purchased. We were travelling with 2 young children so flying ended up being a nightmare experience. We sent an email to complain: no response, no feedback no compensation for the extra days spent in Sri Lanka and the flights made longer.

Terrible customer service before the flight. We had our flight changed two weeks before departure and they tried to change it to 5 days after the original. Not really on. We had already sorted transfers out on the other end and tried to get these refunded but they refused. In-flight the service however is great with extremely helpful staff- just a shame about their customer service team.

Apart from 5 hour delay in leaving Muscat I found the service to be excellent and well run. Food was a tad disappointing with limited choice but that aside not a bad trip.
