Review of KLM Royal Dutch Airlines

Really poor costumer service by flying blue/Klm. Mistakes in their administration that resulted in me loosing frequent flyer status are acknowledged, but not fixed. Many phone calls over 3 month period: many promises to fix but nothing happens…a waste of all the extra spending to keep up flying blue status.
Flying today to Zurich, but will have to pay extra for luggage and seat due to their mistakes…

Bought 2 plane tickets by telephone from Amsterdam to Zanzibar six months before the actual flight in december 2024. This was because we specifically wanted a flight with a short transfer time of 1 1/2 hours. Everything paid immediately. A few days before the flight departs we receive the plane tickets with a transfer time of !!!9 hours!!! We called KLM directly. The employee said, No worries, you can book a hotel and declare the costs to us KLM, no problem. So this is what we did. We included the visa costs that we had to pay because we had to leave the airport grounds for a hotel. When we returned home we declared the costs to KLM. But we just received this answer: Unfortunately we cannot cover the costs you had to make, because the connecting flight was not operated by KLM.

We booked tickets with KLM from Amsterdam to Zanzibar. So because KLM works with partners who are unreliable, customers have to suffer because of that?
Take into account that there are many EXTRA COSTS when you fly with KLM. A plane tickets cost us 350 EURO EXTRA.

I would also like to add that you hardly get any drinks or food on a flight of more than 9 hours. After 9 hours on the plane with a little water and 1 snack, no breakfast was served in the morning. Apparently things are going very badly for KLM!

Shame on you!

KLM should be classified as the worst and most unreliable airline . I’ve never had so much problem as cancellations and rebooking and poor service as I experienced with KLM. They don’t ever care to compensate my loss despite I paid extra for the cancellation insurance. Whenever you call customer service, you are connected to their staff in Philippines and, without being disrespectful to anyone, they cannot speak english and it just add to the confusion and misunderstanding.
This airline is one of the worst and careless airlines and I would not recommend to anyone if you are traveling for business or meeting with tight and sensitive schedule.

My first experience with KLM was a disaster and will definitely be my last. Due to their routing error, my family and I faced significant stress and inconvenience. Instead of offering proper compensation, their customer care team provided empty apologies and rigidly stuck to policies that ignored the real impact of their mistake.

The flight itself was uncomfortable, with no proper space for hand luggage—my carry-on was placed at the door due to lack of overhead space. I was even questioned in Dubai over a visa warning caused by this incident.

Terrible service, poor customer support, and zero accountability. I’ll never recommend KLM to anyone.

I booked insurance with Allianz for my up and coming flight to Jaipur. I then had an accident and was unable to travel. I was unable change the flight. I had to cancel it. Allianz will not process my claim - which took me hours- until I had a specific invoice for the amount of refunded money I would get after the booking fees were refunded. Super complicated. Unable to request this document by telephone or online.

I have called so often - KLM have an English speaking option but each time I called it it was not available. My french is OK too. Then I was told by a KLM staff to contact the exact department via phone for reclamations. When I called it said all the advice was online. So the staff just deflected me with added frustration.

I cannot speak to anyone / or email anyone or upload the information that I need to as each time you go to the specific page it puts up a baggage complaint page ( ?) and the upload document button does not work. (!) Deflect and defend.

I was a loyal KLM Traveller and enjoy the airline. Better than airfrance. I have spent thousands of euros and ...I have to go to Jaipur in 10 days now I am healed. they could of given me a code or a refund code but no... they made me cancel. Now I am owed 780 euros and Allianz are refusing to pay before I have the form that KLM are blocking.
