It was a good flight. The crew was as always friendly and the food was good. Nothing to complain regarding the flight. The only min point I would say was the lounge at LHR it was outdated and the furniture really needs to be replaced!!

KLM is like the Spirit of Dutch airline service. It's cramped and dirty and mediocre at best. Had an absolutely terrible experience with one of their employees when boarding a plane to get home. They stopped me AT THE GATE and decided that they were going to check my carry-on luggage. I told them that wasn't going to be an option because I had fragile glass objects in the suitcase. He told me that didn't matter and that it was going to be checked. I protested and he then told me that it was too full. The bag wasn't even completely full. I had a small bulge coming from a pocket. That was my liquids bag. I threw it in the top pocket after security because it was faster than opening the bag. I told him that the small bulge at the top was my liquids bad and would fit just fine inside. I did this and then showed him and he told me that the bag wasn't carry-on size and should have been checked before getting here. This is the part that particularly angers me because it was a straight up lie. I know for a fact my bag was well within KLM size regulations. He told me that they should be charging me for checking the bag because it's not carry-on size, but he won't do that if I just let them check the bag. So, lied to and then threatened I didn't even know what to do about all the breakable items I was NOT going to let them take. So he gives me this flimsy bag (which ripped when I was in Amsterdam). So I put all my breakable items in this bag, my medications, my laptop and charging cord. I didn't want to to have to worry about losing any of it if they lost my bag. So my pretty much empty bag is now even emptier. Meanwhile, people with carry-on's MUCH larger than mine are strolling down to the plane. After taking out all the valuable and important things out of my carry-on bag I look at this man and ask him if he can guarantee that it will be placed on the plane. I don't think this is an unreasonable question, but the response I got was completely unreasonable. He told me I was just being rude and no one was being rude to me, a statement I strongly disagree with since I was lied to about my baggage and then threatened with an extra baggage fee.
Good and smooth flight without any delay. Intermediate stop in Singapore for cleaning the aircraft plus catering uplift.
Service on board okay. Good meals and drinks were supplied.
Return flight was on time as well.
I have been flying with KLM from Teesside Airport and Schiphol for many years now and they have always had the perfect combination of professionalism and friendliness. They do all they can to ensure you have as comfortable a trip as possible (in Economy) and always service with a smile, even on this long trip!
