Review of Delta Air Lines

The 777 is a nice plane, but the Delta configuration provides very limited legroom, friendly air hostesses, meals were below average... But, it is the only direct flight from South Africa to the Southern States... Unfortunately their silver status has zero benefits...

I am a platinum delta member and LOVE Delta. Having worked for another airline DELTA is worth every penny and every effort to fly. That being said, JFK is a disappointment. We were told bad information on a delayed flight going to DTW then when we went to the T4 sky club and tried to rebook and get our bags transferred the attendant at the desk was so slow I thought we were going to miss our next flight. The sky clubs are much too crowded to get the relaxation I pay for with my sky club membership. I get better service and a quieter table at a restaurant near the gate. The airport set up is bad but not as bad as LGA.

Flying on DL try to avoid JFK, you’ll have a better travel experience. That being said, I still fly Delta only, unless under duress.

I understand it is always a prediction (guess ?) as to what meals people will select. However, on several recent flights, if you are seated in the last row, good luck. In this case, even though there were still choices, the cabin crew had 2 lists - not one! By the times they served, what we had a ordered was not available. Huh??

We normally sit mid-cabin, but wound up in the last row due to a rerouting and row 9 was the last 2 seats left. Otherwise, the flight was comfortable and service good. The pursed was embarrassed and gave us extra frequent flyer mileage

Check in at Zurich was quick and efficient. There is a club for first / business class. Initially they had drinks, pastries, cold cereal, yogurt, etc. An hour after opening they finally put out hot food. Luggage handling at JFK was horrible, and then you have to go completely outside to connect. They also managed to soak a suitcase. Service on board was OK, but they messed up the catering.

Delta is just the best. They always have consistent service, nice seats, etc. The downside is the new seating lineup. They have all premier, plus first class line up in section 1. it can be a long line sometimes, which in reality the first on the plane should be a short line.

the Vegas airport is easy to navigate for the Delta terminal. on the far right of D gates is the first class, Clear, and Precheck, once you clear, then go to the left for the train to the D gates. give yourself ten minutes to make it all the way.
