Review of Delta Air Lines

Reviewed 19 September 2017

Whether I am flying local or cross country, Delta gets a hue thumbs up from me! Excellent Customer Service from the time you enter the airport to the time you get home. They always go the extra mile to be sure their passengers are comfortable and happy . Thank you Delta Airlines!!!

Comfortable flat bed seats- have had wider seats on some carriers and more narrow ones on other carriers; bottle of water at the seat when you get on. Decent lunch at the beginning of the flight and light meal 1 1/2 hours before landing.

I read beforehand about the food available on Delta. It turned out to not be true. Both going and coming we were offered the same meal. All four planes chicken with rice or lasagna. UGH! It wasn’t good enough the first time! The website also mentioned snacks they did not offer.

One meal my cheese was moldy. The stewardess seemed surprised, and embarrassed saying she would report it.

Some bathrooms started out with empty supplies and others that ran out during flights were not replaced. Doors that don’t close properly so others can open them when it shows it is locked from inside.

The smoothness of the flight was good.

I have to say after talking to different travelers Delta dropped the ball. Everyone else had meals included. We were giving to rounds of drinks and pretzels.

Went to Paris for the first time. It is a magical city. If you have been you know. If you haven’t been…..go!
We hit all the standard tourist attractions, The Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Catacombs, Versailles, the Rodin garden and the Seine boat tour. All are impressive and worth the effort but three, the Louvre, Versailles and the Eiffel Tower could leave you breathless, they did me. Words cannot describe these attractions. Two things we didn’t do that we will do the next trip is the on-off bus and sign up for tours at the attractions. Lastly, check out the Paris pass…no standing in long lines.
We stayed in a nifty hotel Saint-Jacques. Located at 35 rue des Ecoles 75005 Paris. Nice sized rooms with a balcony overlooking the street. The hotel sets between two universities surrounded by wonderful restaurants right in the middle of the fun (music and markets and just Paris being Paris). Easy walking distance to the Notre Dame and the Seine River. And here is a big plus…. close to the metro (subway) and the train stop. There are two dynamite staffers, Raja and “Fred”. Real pros at what they do, making our trip a pleasure. They answered every question we had. Sincerely friendly, patient and very accommodating.
Now about the restaurants. One of the hardest things to do is find a bad restaurant in Paris. So when one impresses you, you are on to something. Ours was a small mom and pop named Chant Airelle at 17 rue Laplace 75005 Paris. It sets in a small alley two and ½ blocks from our hotel. I had the veal and my wife had the pork ribs. In addition to delicious food the place is loaded with charm, warmth and a beautiful courtyard along with a very cordial staff. Dining was a pleasant, peaceful experience and reasonably priced. We had the house wine and the bill came to 59 Euros. I would go back. There are some myths we had been told about Paris i.e., small portions of food….nada, no cold beer….not so, very expensive…you can make it that way same as the states but not as a rule.
The shining star in this trip was Delta Airlines. They pampered us from Atlanta to Paris and return to Minneapolis. Good meals and I mean good. No boxed junk. Plus, free wine, beer and cocktails. One of Delta’s strong suits has to be their employees. Very supportive and professional.
Hope this helps someone.
