Do not fly Copa! Biggest mistake of our trip! Although we got super affordable tickets, they switched our flights on us and were going to extend our trip by a couple of days and give us a 24 hour layover in Panama. Because that didn’t work for our schedules at all, our only other option was to shorten our week long trip to Ecuador down to 4 days. They give you optional flight credit but don’t do refunds. Customer support is difficult to understand—they barely speak English and are often impatient if you have to ask them to repeat themselves. Their app and website are faulty—after rescheduling our flight to the 4 day trip, the night before we left we downloaded the app and they still had us doing the longer trip with the 24 hour layover even after receiving a confirmation email that our flight had been switched months prior (to 4 days). You have to call them to complete any action on your flight that could easily be done on an app or website and half the time you have to call then multiple times because they don’t actually do what you ask them to do. For our trip to Ecuador, my wife and I had to call them about 8 times. Save yourself some time and avoid some stress and book with any other airline! You might save some money flying Copa, but it’s not worth it.
The flight crew on each of our Copa flights were very nice (hence why I give 2 stars rather than 1) but if you’re flying through Panama City at all you’ll have to deal with Copa staff there and I can’t say the same for them…they were pretty rude during an already stressful trip.
