Review of China Eastern Airlines

We flew london to shanghai, two internal flights plus the return journey Beijing - Shanghai - Heathrow on a 777. Sevice was fine, new films but food was awful so I would advise taking something on board with you. They serve drinks with the meals and bring round water at intervals. The seats are hard and after a twelve hour flight, what can I say we ending up sitting on our pillows and blankets as padding. So much so that we used our left over holiday money to pay for exit row seats at 1000 yuan ( approx £100 per person ) to give us more room and it was worth every penny.

I was expecting average, or under average service and planes, but they've surprised me. Even onboard entertainment (movies, etc) were good. Also staff is nice and friendly. Food was great.

Going to Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) from Toronto was fine but the return was excruciating and unsafe. At no time other than take off and landing did passengers observe the seatbelt sign and crew did not enforce it. Not even when there were bad turbulences and announcements made to return to your seats did the passengers sit down. Mothers with babies strapped to them, parents with children, elderly persons carrying hot tea, people rummaging through the overhead bins, suitcases and shoes in the aisles, overhead bins left open all during turbulences and being told to sit down and buckleup. Never did the crew enforce the seatbelt signs, not even for themselves. These people continuously walking around create a danger to those of us who do obey the seatbelt signs. Someone is going to get injured! Never mind if you want to sleep the constant traffic makes it impossible! My photos, passengers and a crew member and a woman with her baby strapped to her, are all during turbulences and being told to sit down and buckle up, even the crew didn't sit down. Perhaps some retraining for the crew is required.

My Trip on Day flight from Nrt to Del. Cabin crew team was very helpful & polite.The food was Tasty. Overall from Check Inn counter to landing feel like home.All in all was a pleasurable experience
100% recommend this airline to all.

The flight from Xi'an to Taipei on China Eastern was hot, the air was very dry, the staff was nice, the food was pretty bad.
