Exactly 24 hours before tomorrow's take off I went online to check in and reserve a seat. I found that the airlines (British Airways is sponsoring this flighting in cooperation with American Airlines) had already assigned me a middle seat and that there were absolutely no other seats to choose from, neither a window nor a middle seat not to talk about on the aisle, where I would prefer to sit since I am tall and broke my ankle a year ago which makes sitting too long difficult.
A similar thing happened when I flew to the States from London a few weeks ago.
It is unfair that these airlines take money for reservations far in advance but don't permit a passenger to choose a seat more than 24 hours in advance.

They always seem to leave on time and arrive early. Usually a very comfortable flight from Miami to the Caribbean.

Flew from CHO to CLT in coach, as business class wasn’t available. CLT to and from LAX to and from very nice. Nice service. Had pre-ordered our meal, but that didn’t work on one leg. On return flight from CLT to CHO, no drink offered before take-off, though there was plenty of time. It’s a short flight, but easily time for two drinks en route. Flight attendant just thumbed through magazine, but offered no further service. Could have asked for a second drink, but didn’t.

Check in people at Kiosk and Desk were very helpful. Checking in by mobile is not an option because at the check points one needs a boarding pass in hand to get through. So, even though you have a mobile check in and boarding pass, you still need to check in at the Kiosk inside the terminal for a boarding pass. Not a big deal, goes fast with your Pass Port

During reservation nothing says airfare includes only a personal item.
Everything else must be paid.
At least other airlines let you know before you buy a ticket.
Besides who was the genius to create a fare that only includes a personal item. Ladies!, That is your purse!!!
What is next? Pay extra for a chair?
Ridiculous.
