My wife and I have flown Air New Zealand for much of the past 40 years in flights to and from the US to Australia and have never had a bad experience with staff. They have always been courteous and welcoming. Staff at check in counters have been exceptional in assisting us whenever we are checking in, and most flight stewards and stewardesses have made us feel welcome on board.

All flights with this airline have been in a Boeing 777, and we found them comfortable and clean. As this was a night flight, I was concerned about our proximity to the toilets, but my sleep was definitely better than usual in an economy seat. Pillows and blankets were provided, as well as a light dinner soon after take off, and a breakfast before landing. The food was in small, but adequate portions and reasonably tasty. I would not hesitate to travel with Air New Zealand again, but I'm tempted to try the Skycouch!

A fantastic flight with great crew and service. The plane was late arriving into Adelaide due to strong headwinds. We left about 45 minutes late but our flight time to Auckland was a little over 3 hours due to tail winds, nearly an hour shorter than normal. Consequently we arrived on time. The plane was a 787 Dreamliner and the Premium Economy cabin is excellent. This direct flight is very popular with people from Adelaide to connect at Auckland to Air NZ services to USA. The transit connection is very straightforward.

one flight was full--every seat; another flight was partial. flights themselves were pleasant--good video, good legroom, seat generally comfortable for 12 hr. flight.

even boarding process OK. food acceptable; complementary drinks included bottled water and wine. attendants polite, including check-in counter

main dislike was on-line check-in process-- from LAX to AKL we couldn't check-in on-line because travel agent booked tickets. Naturally for an international flight, this was anxiety provoking. website didn't mention this until I actually called in after wasting 40 min. website also doesn't show passport # or birthdate "for privacy"--so how do we know if it correct or if it needs updating? decided to manually re-enter the info. I wish app programers would actually try their app before going "live". Another couple also could not check-in on-line from AKL to LAX.
