“Air France from US & back”
Review of Air France

Reviewed 25 September 2017

Making reservations was the easy part, getting info out of Air France after that is virtually impossible. Going was okay, but we could not get any solid info about our flights until 30 hrs. before boarding. Coming back, we got boarding passes as far as Paris. In Paris we could not print out boarding passes & got a message "see agent". There were no agents until you got past security. Security was not happy letting you through without a boarding pass. It was much hassle, found a customer service desk by the gate we should be at, she had trouble printing boarding passes. Air France is almost impossible to deal with from the U.S.

Air France is good airline, but not excellent for long-haul flight. Food in economy class was good. We got to chose between steak or chicken. Jamaican style chicken was very good and well seasoned. Our plane from Paris to Toronto delayed two hours and boarding was very slow and took lot of time. Stewardesses were nice and In-flight entertainment was very good, you got lot of options from drama to action movies. Legroom was decent. Seats weren´t amazing, but they weren´t bad. Cabin wasa typical long-haul flight type. I liked food and customer service there and I didn´t liked the boarding.

I have flown a few times with Air France to China and they have always been on time. Staff are friendly and helpful, the food is good (by aeroplane standards) and the in-flight entertainment is also fine! Comfortable seats and we are always given nice complimentary items to use. I love their 'safety instructions' video which is a nice change from the normal dull ones...

I learned that I have been spoiled terrible by Delta and Air New Zealand. Seats were supposed to be lie flat, but I am taller than the seat. No flight attendants taking care of you. Food was marginal. I was thirsty most of the time and just wanted some water. On the plus side, they sounded wonderful when they spoke. Paid too much for premium service that wasn't premium.

The seats in Premium Economy look far more comfortable than they are. They are not well padded and there is very limited incline. The cabin crew was indifferent, and while I do not fly for the meal, the food was inedible. For the return flight we bought bread, cheese and pate to take on the plane and were glad we did as the meal on the return was no better than on the flight over. What a disappointment and not value for the money.
