“good flight!”
Review of Aeromexico

Reviewed 15 January 2018

We left Montreal just before midnight, connecting in Mexico City to Puerto Vallarta. It was nice to have screens on every seat so we could watch movies, etc. if unable to sleep. Seats in economy no more or less uncomfortable than on any other airline, the way they're packing them in these days. We received a sandwich, apple sauce, snacks and drinks, whereas our friends took morning flight direct to P.V. on Air Canada and were not given any food. Good flight, good service, no complaints with Aeromexico.

We booked one way tickets with Aeromexico from Boston to Merida. The price was hard to pass up, so we risked booking despite reading a lot of bad reviews. ( We flew home direct from Cancun on JetBlue).

We had an overnight flight from Boston to Mexico City and then a 3 hour layover. A few days before our flight we were offered the opportunity to bid for business class. Because it was an overnight flight, we decided to go for it. We ended up getting business class for both legs of our flight. If I were to do it all again, I would probably just pay the small amount for the upgrade on the Mexico City to Merida flight.

The flight from Boston to Mexico City was only half full and the seats in economy looked like they would have been comfortable for us, especially since we could have spread out a bit. There was no benefit to being in business class when we got off the plane, no special lines to go thru immigration. The line was long (we landed after a flight from China and the officers were having a really hard time processing all of the non Spanish, non English speaking passengers.). A designated line would have been nice, but alas there wasn't one.

The reason I said I would pay the $45 extra for the business class from Mexico City to Merida wasn't for the flight itself so much, but for the access to the First Class Lounge. Our flight from Boston landed early, so we ended up in the lounge for over 2 hours, very early in the morning. It was a great lounge, comfy with lots of snacks and yummy cappuccino.

All of the flights were on time, the planes were nice as well as the staff. We did carry on, so can't comment on the luggage handling.

As i also mentioned, the price was great. Wouldn't hesitate to fly with them again.

We forgot our iPhone and travel wallet in the Seat Pocket, on flight AM665, on Dec 23, 2017, flight from SFO to Mexico City, because my daughter was airsick and we were so frazzled with getting her some help. We realized we forgot the phone after exiting the aircraft. We immediately contacted security, while still inside the Customs area right outside the Gates corridor, but the staff told us that the Aircraft had left the gate and was taken to the Hangar, and that we have to contact Customer service to retrieve the phone.
Ever since then, we have been given the run-around, from one person to another, then to email, then to phones (where no one picks up). No luck in getting the phone back.
On our return trip to Mexico city on Jan 5, we again went to Baggage Claim, where an agent 'looked up on the computer' and said that 'an iPhone was found on Flight Am665, on Dec 23' and gave us a Tag number. But no one would retrieve it for us, in the time of our transit, again, same run-around.
Ever since then, we have contacted Aeromexico Customer service, and Luggage dept and Lost and Found and Complaint Department, without any success.

Basically, the Airline agents are dishonest, misleading travelers. This is unethical behavior on part of Aeromexico.

Warning to all travelers on Aeromexico: Beware of these folks, they will take your things and never be accountable, to what amounts to stealing!!!

Having travelled in 3 continents for over 20 years, I knew it was not good to have only one hour to connect in Mexico City Airport, and highlighted to AM, however, they refuse to put me in an earlier fly, as a result, I missed my connection, because the first flight was late almost one full hour. Compensation requested: hotel, taxi, meals, however not even a glass or water was offered. AM staff was very, very unhelpful, and disrespectful. Very sad to see this is not the Mexican way to treat people/visitors. The Dreamliner (787) turned out to be a Nightmareliner, and on top of everything entertainment selection is really poor (both: Music and Movies) Not even the extras paid were compensated. In conclusion: Avoid this Airline! No wonder why other people reviews are really bad for AM!

The flight takes an hour and 45 minutes. Most airlines would give you a coke and peanuts. We god Swiss cheese, Belgian dark chocolate, and other high-quality tasty stuff in our lunch box.

I have over a million frequent flier miles and don't remember any other airline giving you this kind of service on a short flight, economy class.

As of January 2018 Aeromexico uses a newer Embraer jet, which is similar to the 737 flown by Southwest. The seats are comfortable and spacious enough for a short flight.

Flying to Mexico City get a seat on the laft side. Right before landing most flights take a broad turn left where you get a chance to see Mexico City from the air - provided smog is not too bad.

Overall great flight. We landed 15 mins ahead of time too.
