Flew on 787-9
Seats were small and uncomfortable
Very few movies and half not in English
Food was ok
1 drink service for the whole flight
Not enough cabin crew
I wouldn't recommend flying with Gulf Air.
My wife and I flew Business Class from London Heathrow to Bangkok via Bahrain. The airport lounges were OK although not exceptional but the service on the aircraft was excellent and the seats/ beds comfortable. The sky chef and his cheese and dessert trolley are a nice innovation. All of the food was tasty and warm and there were a number of nice 'treats' along the way
Gulf air should be ashamed of their national airline squeezing so many people onto their plane. Unfortunately it's really the only airline, apart from BA, that goes directly to Bahrain otherwise I would avoid it. The new dreamliners (quite the misnomer) which we now refer to as nightmareliners now squeeze in 3 seats where there were once 2 seats, with no room to move your elbows. It would be good if Gulfair could provide some middle priced seating like premium economy. However the food was OK and the staff did their best and on this occasion we did leave on time.
Overall good service and comfy seats on new airbus. Food and drink was excellent. Timing of take-off should be adjusted.
