“Good for a short travel”

Travel was from Paris to Clermont-Ferrand on an urgent trip. Found that this is one of the frequent airlines in the region and can sat that this is good enough for a short travel of 1-2 hours. Service was okay, though felt that the air hostess were on the higher side of the age. Refreshments were served in the form of beverage and cookies. Leg space was okay and baggage space was okay as well. There was no in-house entertainment though.

Roundtrip Paris CDG2 to Goteborg Landvetter International Airport
Flight duration: 2 hours
Airline / Aircraft: AF Hop! / E190

Hop! terminal is located in CDG2 terminal G (T-G) which is a "low cost" terminal far away from CDG2 Terminals ABCDE and F with not much shuttles connections from the 6 main terminals at CDG2. Terminal G looks like a renovated storage shed that had been transformed to airlines terminals! However, as T-G is smaller than the other terminals and operates fewer flights, all the usual fussy flows and procedures (check-ins, security scans, police controls,...) are faster and smoother.

Our flight was ontime and the boarding was fast and smooth with the respect of airline's instructions.

The cabin of our Embraer 190 is well lighted, clean and the seats legs room are standard and the pitch is OK. But don't expect to have a food service, only a light snack with drinks is offered with no charge.

Globally, it was a nice and pleasant short flight. The crew was pro and captain's announcement was short but informative and professional.

Hop! flights are 98% on time is my experience while travelling this airline.
Ticket prices might be high except when you book well before you start your travel.
The Embrear planes are small with a restriction on cabin lugage.
You need to drop your trolley at the stairs of the plane before boarding and you can pick it up when you have arrived at your destination. This means you cannot leave the plane until all the trolleys have been ofloaded and brought to the front door of the plane. However 1bag is always allowed on board in the cabin at any time, except for the trolley....

I was notified by e-mail that my long-confirmed flight from Pau (Pyrenees) was cancelled at 5pm local time with no contact details and everything in France shut down. The flight was 06.30 hrs the following morning. Luckily, I had an agent in the UK who managed to rebook it, despite the fact that it took two hours before the flight was showing cancelled on the online system and available for rebooking. Left to Hop!, I would have lost a night's sleep, would have had to turn up 5 hours early for a cancelled flight, would have missed my connecting flight in Paris and would have got home over 5 hours late! Service on board was excellent and the airport staff were very efficient, but this is a high cost airline, who act like a budget airline. From what the taxi driver told me on the way to the airport, my experience is common nowadays.

Perfect connection between Cermont-Ferrand and Amsterdam. Small plane (Embrear) but friendly and helpful staff.
