We were looking to fly from Osaka to Sapporo on Sunday morning and I was informed on Saturday evening that the flight had been canceled. What was strange was that the reason for the cancellation provided was weather related, but a number of other flights on the same route were still operational, including other low cost operators plying at similar times. When we tried to speak to one of the reps and asked them for options they were completely unhelpful and were clearly unable to do anything but put us on a specific alternative flight on Monday afternoon. They refused to pay/provide accommodation in Osaka where we were to check out soon. We suggested letting us take a flight later that day, or on one of their associate airlines or from another city so that we would not need to book another hotel and loose 1 night of our bookings at the destination, but they just kept repeating the standard response that the only option we had was the one flight on Monday afternoon. We ended up practically loosing 2 days of our trip thanks to the unwillingness of Jetstar to help even though we suggested options that would not have added any cost to them.
