Really enjoyed this ship. All staff was pleasant, the entertainment & shows on this one were excellent especially the Beatles tribute. They did an excellent job with their sanitation processes, insuring folks washing hands before entering buffet, etc.

I love this cruise line because they made sure everyone was vaccinated and COVID tested prior to boarding. The staff was magnificent. They were all so happy to be sailing again and it showed. I stayed in the Haven and would not choose anything else. The food was better than ever. I ate in the Haven restaurant almost every meal, Also ate at Cagneys and Teppanaki which were their usual over the top quality. The ship was less than 50% occupied so plenty of space. The Haven staff were very attentive. I would like to recognize Armando De Guzman, my concierge for his outstanding service. I travel solo and felt comfortable anywhere on the ship. Ports of call were Western Carribean and have all been modernized, expanded since I was there about 10 years ago. I have been sailing NCL for many years and loved this ship!

This was our first cruise to Alaska(July 2019). I have traveled in Alaska in the past but this gives a whole different view from the coast. The port in Seattle was very easy to navigate at the beginning and end of the cruise. The ship and staff were great. The views from the ship provided photo opportunities of icebergs calving, seals floating by on ice, native birds and naturally the the landscape. The cities of Ketchican and Skagway were very interested places. The food selections on board were quite diverse.

It was a trip with my wife and my in-laws. While the ship herself is a beautiful vessel, I was not convinced to be restricted on a ship with 3,000+ other persons. The onboard restaurants are mostly crowded. Food was OK nothing exciting. Easy to contract some fever or mild infection at some point in this type of enclosed area. My in-laws with the average age of 66 enjoyed the facilities onboard. I found the cruise boring even for 3 days only and the 8 hour or less escale in Fukuoka was too short and with a very poor sightseeing programme. Visited nothing but a park and 2 duty-free shops.

We weren't sure what to expect with the seven night Norwegian Joy cruise to Mexico. We typically sail Celebrity but thought we would try one of the newer Norwegian ships, plus we got a great deal for a concierge balcony cabin. Although not as big as some of the Royal Caribbean ships, it was the largest ship we had been on. The cabin was the best part of the cruise. It was very large and modern with double vanity in the large bathroom. The concierge was very helpful in booking dinner reservations and shows. He was probably the second best part of the experience. We did have a bad sewer smell coming from the bathtub for the first two days. I had to call manintenance six times before it was finally resolved. They did offer us free tickets to the Wine Lovers musical, wine tasting and lunch for the inconvenience, which we enjoyed. The ship itself is ok. It was pretty modern but nothing spectacular. The flow was really good though. It was easy to get around and find all the public spaces. The housekeeping throughout the ship wasn't the best. The balcony in our cabin looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a while. It was kind of that way around the rest of the ship as well. The food in the specialty restaurants was good. We especially enjoyed Cagney's Steakhouse and Le Bistro. As concierge class we had breakfast in La Cucina most mornings. The breakfast was good but service was slow as they had one chef for everyone. The night we ate in La Cucina the Italing was average. We had lunch in The Local once and it was your typical pub food. The problem with The Local was it was so massive and tables were packed in. It wasn't really separated from the hallway. People were walking right past your table while you ate. The main dining rooms were, in our opinion, below average. We never had a bad meal but there was nothing we would rate above average. They had a pretty eclectic menu so you could always find something you liked. We ate breakfast at the buffet once and it was also below average. It didn't seem like the buffet was well organized and overly crowded. We avoided it after that so can't say how it was for lunch or dinner. The shows in the atrium area were quite good. The staff really worked hard to entertain the guests. We saw the two production shows in the theater which were very good. I know a lot of people complain that you have to book your tickets ahead of time to get seating but that was very easy to do. We enjoyed our time at the spa. Even though the prices are of course higher than on land the staff was wonderful. The spa itself was not the fanciest but it was fine. They offered a wide range of services. They do however constantly try to up sell everything. One thing I was disappointed with celebrity about was when we booked the cabin it was advertised as a mid-ship cabin. When I finally realized that it was in fact a forward room I called our travel agent who also agreed it was a forward cabin. We noticed this because when we got our luggage tags to print they were labeled forward. The travel agent called Norwegian who insisted it was a mid-ship cabin until both the travel agent and I pointed out it was on the forward section of their own deck plans and the that their own luggage tags indicated it was a forward cabin. They told us it was out fault because we were given the cabin number and should have investigated where it was on our own. Th entire category we booked was listed as mid-ship on their website but were all forward so there was nothing they could do. The travel agent did insist they give us $100 onboard credit to make up for it. They even fought that but did finally relent in the end. The staff throughout the ship were very friendly and did everything they could to make our trip wonderful. The staff alone would be a reason to go on another cruise on the Joy. The cruise was definitely worth what we paid even though it wasn't the best ship I've been on. We would probably go on another Norwegian Cruise if the price was right. I think next time we would maybe opt for a smaller ship though.
