We just returned from our 7 day cruise on Harmony of the Seas, June 16-23. First of all, this is the largest Royal Caribbean ship we have ever sailed on. Weve taken 8 cruises, all on Royal Caribbean. Secondly, we have not sailed since 2018 and we were really looking forward to this cruise. Sadly, our sail was affected by Tropical Storm Alberto and it was rainy and rough seas for most of our cruise. The Captain bypassed one of our ports, Costa Maya, due to Tropical Storm conditions.

The ship is beautiful but there are lines for everything... Dining Room, Windjammer, performances, even Departing the ship (we stood in line for 40 minutes as self assist departure.

After a cruise spent primarily on the ship, we're in no hurry to book another one.

Now the good things...the employees work very hard and strive to make your cruise perfect. No complaints there. The shows were excellent...Grease was phenomenal but a little raunchier than expected when sailing with kids. Jamie's Italian Specialty Restaurant was top tier. We went for lunch on a rainy day and it was a nice way to spend a few hours.

We did back to back cruise on Harmony of the Seas. These being our 14th and 15th cruises. The first was with family, the second just my wife and I. The ship was clean and welcoming. We have sailed on Allure of the Seas so getting around for us was old hat. Both cruises stopped in Roatan, Costa Maya and Cozumel. On the first cruise we did excursions; Zipline/Eco walk in Roatan, Chacchoben Mayan ruins in Costa Maya and VIP Dolphin swim in Cozumel (I did individual reviews for each of these) . Second cruise we just relaxed and did no excursions. We had a Boardwalk balcony cabin (9721) for both cruises. Not having to pack in between cruises was great. Our cabin Steward was awesome. He always had a smile on his face and was very prompt with taking care of our requests. I have been to the Philippines. It was fun to see his smile get bigger when he learned i had to been to places he and his family are from. On the first cruise we had My Time Dining. One thing that was a bit off of this is that it starts at 6:30. Our group likes to eat earlier but we made this work out. Our head waiter was able to ensure our table was ready and we could get in a few minutes early. Our waiter and his assistant were really awesome. They both made sure we were taken care of. The assistant knew all of our drink preferences and had them there as soon as we sat down. He was also quick on keeping drinks filled. The waiter let us know about the shows each night after dinner as well as the menu for the next night. For the second cruise my wife and I discussed the dining situation. We went to the My Time Dining hostess the first day and asked her about changing to a 5PM reservation. She was really great and made a few calls and got us set up for the earlier time. This put us on the 4th deck MDR vs 3rd. Our new waiter and assistant this week were really great too. They were both very happy, upbeat and fun. I like to drink Coke Zero. The assistant made sure I always had a can with a class of ice as soon as I sat down. My wife ordered the dessert cheese plate as an appetizer the first night and really liked it. The rest of the trip it was at our table when we sat down. Both cruises the activity staff were awesome. They made all of the trivia and games fun. They were also very upbeat. Cory the Cruise Director was awesome. I am a veteran and I could tell he really does appreciate veterans and first responders when he did the Veterans Tribute. All of the other staff we interacted with made the trip great. One odd thing; I get the soda package. you get a refillable cup to fill at the self serve Coke machines. I found that several of them were out of order the whole trip. A few of the others I tried had a bad soda water to syrup mix leading hard toward the soda water side. But it was nice I could get the cup filled at any of the bars with no trouble. Royal Caribbean is very efficient in getting things done on disembarkation. The Galveston terminal uses facial recognition VS viewing passports. We were in the last group to leave the ship . We were supposed to be called at 9:45 but at 8:50 they called all of the numbers to leave. They have also made each group smaller so you don't have a huge number of people to deal with when getting your luggage. We were done and thru customs with our luggage by 9:30. All in all a great time on Harmony of the Seas. Looking forward to our next cruise no matter where it goes.

I want to comment on the staff of Harmony of the Seas. First, all departments that we had contact with showed such pride & passion for their job & the passengers. I wanted to give some shout outs:Dining Room-Paul Fernandes(Asst.Maitre’D) & Joanne Magpantay(Headwaiter)-both continually confirming our satisfaction. Our waiters in the Main Dining Room(I think Deck 3) Leebert & Tika-they were fabulous-Leebert making little animals for my grand kids. They made sure my stepson’s birthday was good! They were super attentive & very service oriented. Jamie Oliver’s-Michael took very good care of our group & celebrated my stepson’s birthday again. The Pub-our hang out, great staff! Great service, kept us with ongoing drinks. Yoga, our room attendant was fantabulous!!! Finally Kamal Seebun, Guest Services Officer who took care in handling some things for our family! He went out of his way! All of the staff did not short on service, smiles & memories. Thank you.

Beware of Royal Caribbean We have been on several Cruises with Royal Caribbean, and most have been great. But we recently had a recent terrible experience. 8 Days prior to our Cruise, we were notified of an itinerary change. Instead of going to Puerto Rico and St Maarten, they switched us to the much less desirable (and much more dangerous) Jamaica and Haiti. When we reached out to RCCL, they told us that they had the right to change it and could do nothing for us. Jamaica ended up being nothing more than a fenced-in marketplace and Haiti a tiny walled off beach. No opportunity for excursions or tours. We feel that we paid a premium fare for a vacation at a much lower value. It was classic "Bait and Switch". We appealed, but they replied that the would not give any refunds, credits or discounts for future Cruises. We are disappointed in the response and will likely not continue using RCCL going forward.

I was prepared to leave a glowing five-star review for my recent experience aboard Royal Caribbean’s Harmony of the Seas. From the impeccable service to the world-class entertainment, the ship was everything I’d hoped for and more. I’ve already told countless friends and family members about how incredible the food, amenities, and activities were. This trip could have easily been the highlight of my year—until I stepped foot into the gym. Unfortunately, what should have been a great workout experience turned into a truly repulsive encounter thanks to one individual: Shama (S-H-A-M-A), the gym manager or a trainer at the fitness center. His behavior was shockingly rude, unprofessional, and downright inappropriate. I’ve never experienced anything like it, especially not on a luxury cruise line that prides itself on delivering exceptional service. As a gym owner with over a decade of experience managing multiple fitness facilities, I hold fitness environments to a high standard. I know what professionalism and quality service look like, and Shama’s behavior was the exact opposite. He created such a hostile and uncomfortable environment that I couldn’t even bring myself to work out that day. It wasn’t just me—other guests in the gym mentioned avoiding the facility entirely because of him. The gym is an essential part of any vacation for me, and not being able to use it because of one person’s toxic behavior was infuriating. Shama’s actions cast a shadow over what was otherwise a nearly perfect cruise. Royal Caribbean, this is unacceptable. Your staff is a reflection of your brand, and allowing someone like this to manage such an important part of the ship’s amenities is a major oversight. If Shama remains on board, I cannot in good conscience recommend Harmony of the Seas or any other ship he might be assigned to, including Symphony of the Seas. For anyone who values a positive, welcoming environment—especially in the gym—I strongly advise thinking twice before booking until this issue is resolved. A single individual’s toxic attitude shouldn’t have the power to ruin what should be a world-class vacation experience.

Had an unfortunate time where my husband had 3 layoffs in one year and we tried so hard to be able to pay for the rest of our cruise but just couldn’t. I canceled 6 months in advance and they kept $700 for absolutely nothing. Knowing that we were in a big hardship. So awful that a major company would treat people like this I could understand if they were out for any services rendered or I canceled at the last minute. Absolute shame that they treat people this way. They would not budge. $700 for nothing and you know this company has plenty of money. This could be one of our monthly bills paid for.
