“flight and seating arrangement”
Review of Air Iceland Connect (**this is not Icelandair**)

Reviewed 3 October 2017

the flight and seating was excellent only problem was with the airport in Iceland it is not user friendly for elderly or handicapped persons too many stairs even washrooms are down stairs, when using elevators have to find an airport person to help not all are public

I have some mobility issues. The Airline Staff went out of their way to make sure I was not inconvenienced. The in flight menu was very good and catered to all tastes. The aircraft ws clean and comfortable. The in flight entertainment was varied. The food was a little expensive, the exchange rate was not the best. Transfer to on going aircraft was quick and easy, we were transported by busses across the airport.

Second time I have used Iceland Air and I find it convenient for connections from North America into Europe and return connections as well. Both my layovers were a little over an hour so not long at all. You may be brought to the terminal by bus as they are quite busy now and don't have enough jetways to service all the flights. It's a small airport which makes finding your gate connection easy and quick but you will find it jamb packed with people and the boarding process leaves a bit to be desired. You will need to pay for almost everything on your flight unless you buy an upgrade. I would recommend eating before hand as the on board menu is limited and expensive.

We flew to Reykjavik from Edmonton with Icelandair and stayed for several days in Iceland. Then we flew on to Belfast. on Air Iceland Connect. Check in and ticketing were efficient. I knew that the aircraft would be a smaller one thna the previous flight as Belfast City Airportis relatively small.

Flying on a Dash Q400 is not an issue as that is the aircaft used by 2 airlines for local service to our small community airport at home (Penticton). I had not paid much attention to the flight duration and was quite surprised that this small aircraft was used for a 2.5 hour flight over the North Atlantic.

That being said the flight was uneventful, the seat were comfortable and the legroom was adequate. It might be rather more eventful should ther be a major Atlantic storm en route.

If you have limited time, then using these domestic flights is a a good way to see a bit more of Iceland than you could otherwise. Some 35 minutes flying time from Reyk to Akureyri save me a 5+ hour drive each way and gave me the opportunity to see the north of Iceland which I would not otherwise have had time for. Check in was painless and you do not need to be there much before departure.
