I am planning a hike in Strbske Pleso area in early June 2014:
1. Is June usually a good month for hiking weather wise?
2. How many hours should it take to hike from Strbske Pleso to Popradské pleso?
2. How many hours should it take to hike from Popradské pleso to Rysy peak?

1. Mountain trails to peaks and above the level of mountain huts are closed till June 16: http://www.tanap.org/national-park-rules/ - but you have many other trails available. Otherwise, it is generally a good month for hiking.
2. Strbske pleso to Popradske pleso is a mere walk, approx. 1h 15 min.
3. As mentioned above, Rysy is closed before June 16. The walk takes approx 3h 20min from Popradske pleso.

40 helpful votes It is a good walk with great views from sedlo pod Ostrvou. It looks a bit daunting from Popradské pleso, but it is only about 1,5 hours to the top of the zig-zag path and it is worth it if it isn't cloudy. You can then walk back down again, or continue around the magistrála but don't underestimate it! If you are an experienced hiker it is straightforward. I think access to that section is unrestricted, but only when there is no snow cover.
The weather can change very quickly - once we were up there and it started snowing, but down in Poprad it was +30C.
Good maps are available from all shops with detailed (and very accurate) timings
