anyone have recent news about the safety to do snorkling in front of Guardalavaca beach since the shark attack last year?
And how does the last hurricane dommage the recife?
Its a ocean there are sharks in the ocean.
I snorkel at Guardalavaca every chance I can get (and on my last visit I was well aware of the recent shark attack and didn't have a moment of hesitation when I headed out to the reef). Shark attacks on humans are extremely rare and even rarer in Cuba. The attack last winter occurred at night (shark feeding time). During the day, the shallow waters tend to be too warm for them so they head out to sea. The snorkelling is beautiful and I don't feel that there is any risk at all. Have fun and enjoy the beauty!
Did not hear about the attack , Was it a fatality ?
Don't go in the ocean at night, like the local that got bit did, and you should be fine.
thanks but i know well the reef been there 5 times, but want to know news about shark apparition since last automnEdited: 31 May 2018, 02:45
"Its a ocean there are sharks in the ocean."
Pretty much what I was thinking.
Apologies for making light of your question.... my granddaughter just walked by and saw what you had asked..... her response..... ‘snorkling v shark?....well that’s easy .... shark!’
LOL - I'm with your grand daughter- my money is on the shark also.
