Treasure Cay of Big Guana Cay?

Hi all

This January will be our first time to the Abacos and we have found a great beach front cottage on both Treasure Cay AND one on Great Gauna Cay. Which would be the best for beaching it, , swimming and walking long walks on the beach? We also want to do some boating to other cays via a rental, some snorkeling and some decent restaurants even if limited.. Both sound awesome. Decisions. Decisions. LOL Thanks!

Treasure Cay is known for it's 3 mile long crescent shaped beach, it's simply stunning. That being said, Guana has some of the nicest beaches in the Abaco's as well. Unfortunately there is now a development on the northern third of the island that is gated and private and that's where a lot of the nice beaches are. You can still access them by boat, but not by land. There are is a new restaurant or two on Guana now so your dining options there are better than in the past. I personally would choose Guana over Treasure just because I think you get more of an "island" feel on Guana, where as Treasure is part of main land Abaco. You really can't go wrong with either though. Boat rental on Guana-Dive Guana, boat rental in Treasure-JIC. Make sure to reserve a golf cart ahead of time as well.
