money

Hello

Just received all our holiday money in euros,problem is alot of them are 100 euro notes.will most shops and restaurants cash them or will we have to get smaller notes,any advice please

Like anywhere else in the world, it depends how much you're spending. Try and buy a 50c bottle of water at a kiosk with a €100 note and you'll probably have trouble, pay a €30 restaurant bill with one and it will be all smiles. Whoever you got the notes from did you no favours, though, and I'd bear that in mind for the future.

On a busy tourist island like Kos you'll be OK if you try and pay with the big notes in many places, it would be a different story on smaller islands.

Just as a guide, Greek ATM cash machines do give out €50 notes, people manage with those for supermarket shopping, drinks in bars and so on.
