June honeymoon- advice on location!

This June we plan to visit Bali/surrounding areas for approx 8 days on our honeymoon.

Before Bali we will be in Kuala Lumpur, and can choose where to fly to from there (for instance we could go to Bali or Lombok).

Does anybody have any advice on where to stay?

As it's our honeymoon we would like somewhere relaxing but with a variety of restaurants/bars so that we have something fun to do in the evenings. We don't really want to be travelling from place to place, and ideally wanted 2 destinations maximum (even 1 if there's enough to do there!).

We are interested in relaxing, walking, going to bars/restaurants and seeing the local culture. Then maybe snorkelling!

We originally chose Gili Trawangan after doing research, but have since heard that it takes a long time to get there and to rule out a day to travel which we ideally didn't want to do due to limited time off work! So have since wondered about Bali mainland or Nusa Lembongan.

If anybody has any advice on must see places and where could be best for us to visit that would be great.

I've stayed at the Ulin Villa located in Seminyak it's surrounded with restaurants or you can hire their chef to cook for you if you want as well which what we did on the 1st night cos we're too tired to go out. So we had our own Bali style BBQ dinner arrange. The villa is very quiet and peaceful to be in and spend time with your own pool and deep huge outdoor bathtub.

They provide shuttle services as well to area nearby.

Here is the problem. June 2917 is Ramadan, the holy fasting month, with its culmination on idul Fitri, June 25th. This religious holiday has a tremendous effect on the local tourism. When a country of 250 mil population has nothing to do for 2 weeks in a row, people evevitably travel. So all tourism spots will be hugely packed with domestic tourists, traffic jams guaranteed, crowds and hotel rates skyrocketing - all expected.

In this case honestly I would suggest to reconsider your travel dates, July ( second half), August, September...Are much better options.
