Thinking of spending about 10 days leading up to Christmas in Dublin and Cong, any Ideas? Restaurants? Experiences? Tours?

Thank you in advance!!

I think you might be better basing yourself in Galway as opposed to Cong. You can still do the day tours to Connemara and the Burren too.

Not the ideal time to visit Ireland - especially with the weather! I predict wind and rain.

A cottage for a week on the Atlantic coast could be bracing! will just say that DS came over for a week at Christmas last year and we did not have one day fit to go out, but we sat home, drank wine and did jigsaws, if this appeals then go for it.

Weather is pot luck at Christmas. It could be pleasant and mild, -15c or the worst storm in 20 years so I would consider all weather eventualities in planning 10 days in Cong.

I don't see why Galway was suggested, it's not far from Cong anyways. Personally I'd rent a small cottage with an open fire and have a rented car handy for excursions.

Galway was suggested because the OP inquired about tours - I'm not aware of any tours operating out of Cong that cover the Burren/Cliffs of Moher and Connemara - especially over the festive period!

Cong over Christmas would not be for me . Even in the height of summer, it's a one horse village . Galway hands down
