The unit where the patient has dialysis will be able to help, most units have a person who is involved with holidays and our patients go on holiday all over the world and the sessions, up to 6 a year are paid for, you just have to pay for the holiday itself, there is also a company called freedom travel who specialise in holidays for people on dialysis, I know there are some holiday units in the canaries but I don't know which islands they are on, You may also get help from some of the patient kidney associations, I think kidney research help with cost of holidays, etc and as the lad is fostered they may be able to help.

An acquaintance of ours has renal failure and came over with a portable dialysis machine. Baxters delivered the appropriate dialysis bags prior to arrival.

Later she had issues and went to the Hospital just outside PDC where they have a dialysis unit.

Cant be more specific but it would pay to contact the hospital in PDC direct and get some accurate info. I'll try and contact the Lady concerned and post later.

Hi, Information as I know it and hopefully pointing you in the right direction.

We have had / have clients needing dialysis and have stayed without problem and as far as I know, without cost.

I believe, do not quote, that dialysis comes under the EU recipriocal health agreement.

The dialysis suite for PdC is Salud Care on Calle Bocaina (top of Anzuelo)

they have day beds, overnight and even holiday apartments for high dependency.

Your home renal support unit....I am led to believe....can arrange this for you.
