Where can we visit by public transport from Costa Teguise?

We are going to Costa Teguise in early May for 1 week. If we don't hire a car, can we visit other places of interest by public transport?

Thanks

If you mean places like timanfaya, the caves etc then no. The buses are great to travel between the major towns but outside these they are irregualr or impossible to use.

Hello,

We've just got back yesterday from CT (Wish we were still there)

If you Look for a company called Last Minute Travel, we've used them for going to visit all the major attractions on Lanzarote. They're really good, and very reasonable prices.

While we were there this time we decided to get the local bus up to Teguise Market, which is easy and only cost 5 euros 30 each return. The following day we noticed that LMT were doing the trip for 4 euros each.

They do all the great tours including Fire Mountain, really worth a go if you're not hiring a car.

Sorry to hijack this thread but I'm going to Lanzarote in about 3 weeks and was wondering the same about public transport as I was not planning on hiring a car this time but would really like to pay a return visit to Jameos del Agua. Do Last Minute travel operate from local tour centres on the island or where can you get in contact with them?

Hi,

Last minute travel have offices in all the resorts on Lanzarote.

The most central one we know of in Costa Teguise is opposite the main entrance to the Pueblo Marinero square in a row of shops (just round the corner from the drag show bar).

There's one on the main strip in Puerto del Carmen, and probably the same in Playa Blanca.

If you go to www.lastminute-transfer.com you'll be able to see the type of trips that they do. Don't take much notice of the prices, as while we were there, they had losts of special offers on the boards outside their shops.

They are also really good for airport transfers.

Good luck,

and hope you have a really lovely hol.

Salud

Thanks very much for your reply Lin. Will check it out online before I go and find their office when I get there. Am really looking forward to going. I'm staying at the Oceano appartments.

There's a bus every 20 minutes from Costa Teguise to Arecife and Puerto del Carmen (1.20 euros each way) lanzarote.com/horarios-guaguas/line03.html

On Sundays there's one to Teguise Market. To go anywhere else you need to go to Arecife and change. The number 60 runs hourly between Arecife and Playa Blanca (3.25 euros) www.arrecifebus.es/web/index.php…

The tours with Last Minute Travel are good value if you like being with a group lastminute-transfer.com/lastminute_trip.asp

The South tour goes to Timanfaya and the North tour to Jameos del Agua. The Grand Tour visits both.
