Walking from Europe to India

Wasn't sure where to put this, but I am basically planning to do a bit of a crazy walk from Istanbul to India in 2017 to kick start my NGO in India, hoping to gain a few sponsors before going.

I would be walking with a filmmaker, a photographer and my dad. I am currently 23 but would be 25 at the beginning of this project. I have figured it will take a bit less than a year if walking a reasonable amount every day.

I wouldn't usually plan trips this far in advance but this one is pretty long and in order to get funding I need to have a definite plan which looks doable.

Here's where you guys come in handy... Any advice for the intinerary? My obvious thought was avoid Afghanistan and be cautious when walking through Pakistan (perhaps a local guide would be needed here).

So far I have: Turkey-Iran-Pakistan-India

If there were a way to go through Afghanistan which would be safe I would do it... Otherwise I would take the slighty longer route.

If anyone could give me an idea about good places to go on the way it would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth

I speak from Isfahan-Iran.

I advise you to include These cities when you want to cross Iran. (Tehran, Kashan, Isfahan, Naein, Yazd, Kerman)

These cities are along your main path.

Hope to see 2 years later.

Emad

hey, seems like a good route if at all possible, but I doubt it will be as the embassy does not seem to be issuing visas recently (London) so I may have to go via Russia (also complicated but less complicated)

I think you can also get your Iranian visa in Ireland.

You can walk through Central Asia. It makes more sense than trying Afghanistan and Pakistan.
