Oludeniz or Gumbet?

Myself and my girlfriend are looking to book two weeks in Turkey this September.

Neither of us have been to Turkey before, but are fairly well travelled around the world.

We are both in our mid to late twenties.

We like to relax on beautiful sandy beaches with calm waters on one day but also enjoy going on exciting excursions on others with plenty of nightlife and evening entertainment.

Bodrum and Olu Deniz appear to tick the boxes however we cannot decide which would suit us best.

Olu Deniz looks very picturesque but spaced further out.

Bodrum looks more developed with everything within walking distance but without as nice beaches.

Anyone with experience of both which could offer any advice or personal experience?

Locations such as Marmaris didn't look like our thing hassling holiday makers into bars and restaurants with hussle&bussle.

Shopping also does not interest either of us.
