Coastal Walkway

Is the West or East end of the coastal walk easier to dreive to and walk as we only will be able to walk halfway and then back in April?

Both ends offer something different but IMO the east end of the walk if a little more spectacular- you can walk into a rather steep drop down to sea level which just happens to be about halfway- Here are my two blogs with photos-

East end- https:/…stony-bay-finishing-coastal-walk.html

West end- https:/…coromandel-coastal-walkway.html

NZ Frenzy author, Scott Cook, stated this about it:

"The 5.5km south from Fletcher are 100% more scenic than the 4.5 km north from Stony. The scenic stretch south from Fletcher culminates at a sweet 360° view-knoll, so this is a great turn-back point for a superior out/back day hike."

What are the roads like driving to the Corromandel Coastal walk? Both starting points?

Colville Road is paved.

Port Jackson road is unpaved. You have 32km of unsealed road to Fletcher bay.

Port Charles Road is only paved for the first 2km. Leaving you with 20km of unsealed road to Stony Bay.
