Which towns to visit in the Vale d' Itria

We will be in Puglia in September staying in Polignano a Mare for four days. I had thought of combining Alberobello, Locorotondo, Martina Franca and Cisternino into a one day tour (we will have a car). Will visiting all four be too much of the same thing? They all look lovely but I would drop a visit to one if there is not a great deal of difference among them. We also plan to go to Ostuni on a separate day paired with a bike ride.

Does anyone have any suggestions for other sights?

I visited the first two, and they were pretty different! You certainly could visit all 4 in one full day, but I would just play it by ear. However, I would read in advance to know of any specific sites you may wish to visit (such as museums) and also where you wish to eat lunch. Most places close up in the middle of the day, and you can find yourself bored and hungry if you do not time it right.

Just did this area in June, saw all three except Martina Franca. It is the largest of the group. Locorotondo was very busy, market day, so we actually enjoyed quiet little Cisternino more. Had a nice lunch there, very quiet and photogenic. Don't drop Alberobello, it's the most unique of the area. Totally cute, touristy, but there's a reason for that!

Prioritise your top choices, plan your route, check events on the day of your visit, decide where you'd like to enjoy lunch during the midday closing, and don't drop UNESCO Alberobello from your list.

The towns are all different.

make sure you take in the small town of Casalini, around a 5 minute drive from Cisternino. The Enoteca with wine museum is fantastic - Annalisa and Jean Franco will show you around the museum and are family with a long history association with Casalini. There are 4 restaurants in the town, make sure you go to the choose your meat restaurant - it is really fantastico. John
