Restaurants Santa Fe

Is there a good place to get prepared takeout for tailgating at the opera? Also is there a restaurant similar to Rancho de Chimayo? They will not reopen until mid September. Any restaurant suggestions would be appreciated, casual and tasty! Thanks,

Not quite sure what you want to compare... food, atmosphere etc... but Gabriel's just north of Santa Fe may be a great option. Also The Shed, La Choza, Tomasitas, Blue Corn Cafe, Cafe Pasqual's, Railyard, Cowgirl...

For takeout.. check at Whole Foods, Wild Oats, Trader Joes, La Montanita Coop and the new Sunflower Market for grocery store type deli. Also Bumblebee's for Mexican takout would be yummy!

i think just going to whole foods is the easiest, everyone can get what they want without spending a bunch of money or worrying whether the food is the right temp. they also have a great selection of wines/beers. good tailgating at the opera is about having time to relax before the performance and people watching, not necessarily about fine dining...
