going to the Hawks game Jan 1 at 7:30 would like a traditional southern new years day meal, pork chops, blackeyed peas etc any suggestions?

If Mary Mac's on Ponce de Leon is open then it is good for southern food.

Nothing wrong with the Mary Mac's suggestion, but I actually prefer the Colonnade, on Cheshire Bridge. And they're definitely open on NYD (noon to 9 pm)-- even have complimentary blackeyed peas. http://colonnadeatl.com/index.html

One thing to make note of, however -- they don't take plastic. Cash or checks only.
