Princess Coach from Anchorage to Mt. McKinley Wilderness?

We have booked a cruise tour with Princess for late May 2018. We travel by coach leaving Anchorage at 9:30 am, arriving at the Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge at 1:00 pm. Talkeetna is almost an hour back-track from the lodge. Is there any possible way to have the coach drop us off at the split in the road? Would a tour company pick us up from that point? Is luggage automatically delivered to your room? So many questions. :-/ Just looking to maximize our time while we are there.

I think you will have to ask the driver, but I doubt it as Talkeetna is about 12 miles from the junction.. Maybe if enough want to go he will drive you into town. When we did a Princess land tour some years ago via train from Whittier, the bus driver who met us made a drive into town for those who wished to go into town. They would later take the shuttle to the lodge. And, yes your luggage will be delivered to your room. And, most likely before you even arrive

No don't count on be dropped off on the side of the road, or any Talkeetna vendor picking you up.

This is a fact about this location. Do you have at least 2 nights at the Denali Princess? And getting into Denali June 1 or later? If you don't know about Denali details, now might be the time. :)

We will spend 2 nights at Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge (5/22 and 5/23) and 2 nights at Denali (5/24 and 5/25). Interested in flight seeing at Talkeetna. Was just trying to avoid extra bus time on the 22nd.

In your case with Denali- then I'd suggest you cancel and get a refund of your tour, and just book yourself on the Toklat Shuttle. Unfortunately that is as far as you can get. Especially recommended if only the worthless Natural History tour is included.

You've seen one of the downsides to a pre-packaged "cruisetour". You are stuck on someone else's schedule. Any chance you'd consider cancel the land tour through Princess and do your own trip with a rental car? You'll have more options and flexibility usually for cheaper. There's nothing on the cruisetour that you can't book on your own.
