Help with San Francisco to Seattle trip, please?

We will be traveling from San Francisco (arriving early on July 13) to Seattle (departing on July 24) driving up the Pacific Coast. probably will do a mini-tour of SF for a traveling companion who has never been there and maybe a mini Napa tour. So far I have nothing planned except a zipline tour in Victoria on the 21st. Would like information on fishing on the Columbia River and/or any coastal fishing trips available? Will be staying at the Sheraton near Pike's Place Market on the 22nd so would appreciate restaurant ideas (preferably casual but great seafood). Also any dining recommendations or sights to see along the drive up the coast. As you can tell, good seafood is a top priority. Thanks!

Hi and welcome to the forums. Since most of your trip will be going through Oregon, you might wish to post your questions there, too:

I can't figure out how many days you'll actually be on the road?

I did a road trip from Cupertino to Seattle on PCH 1 to 101 and had an awesome time. We checked out the Sundial Bridge in Redding? or was it Eureka? Then we stopped in Lincoln City on the southern tip of OR. I think it's a "must stop" and look around, strech your legs and check out the outlet stores! (LOVED it there) We stopped and stayed at a hotel a little north more.. I forget the name but it was a casino/hotel. Then we stopped at the Tillamook cheese factory, love loved it there too!

The whole coastal driving was beautiful! There's just something nastalgic about road triping encoutering different city when they're just miles apart.

Didn't really do much in WA, because that's home and I just wanted to get home :)

In SF- I liked Alcatraz, Fishermans' Warf, China Town.. ample to do there!

The Seattle waterfront has a cool seafood resturant. They throw a pot of seafood onto your table.. The Crab Pot, and they hand you a mallet, then you go to town :)

I see a few corrections are needed, above.

Eureka and Redding are about 3 hours apart and Sundial Bridge is in Redding. A check of Google would have confirmed that.

Lincoln City is not at the southern tip of OR; hardly. It's on the central coast, about, roughly, 5 - 6 hours drive from the OR/CA state line.

Many of us on TA suggest that Lincoln City, whatever its value to others, is a strip city, with slow traffic, worth leaving for other far more interesting villages or towns.
