Unique things to see and do for an afternoon in Baltimore

I'll be in Baltimore on a Saturday in early November and have a few hours to explore. I live in Philly, travel to NY and DC regularly and have seen many of Baltimore's tourist attractions already. I am looking for unique art, culture, libraries, exhibits, or neighborhoods. I'd say I am seeking cultural destinations or the ethnic. Please advise.

I would suggest the Visionary Arts Museum right on Key Highway.

The Walters Art Museum is also not far - on N Charles:

Enjoy your stay!

If you haven't already visited the Peabody Library I would highly recommend it. Their current hours don't include Saturday, "but" they have an exhibition on until the end of November in the Exhibit Hall which is open on the weekends, so you may be able to at least take a peak at the rest of the place.

you might like the geppi museum at camden yards - entertainment & pop culture dating back to the 1800's.

i visited it a couple months ago & i've never seen anything quite like it - i was impressed!

I'd suggest a trip to Hampden if you have already seen everything in the Inner Harbor. Lots of interesting artsy shops and a few galleries.

Upper Fells Point is now major Latino neighborhood- lots of Latino shops and restaurants in that area. There's an area of Baltimore called Greektown down Eastern Ave. past Highlandtown- a few Greek restaurant and shops.

I'm going to second the American Visionary Art Museum recommendation- I think it's the best museum in Baltimore.

How about the Engineer's Club of Baltimore for something unique.

The Visionary was simply splendid. Worth another visit. For anyone interested in the arts and visiting Baltimore, it's a must.
