We recently stopped here on a road trip and loved it! Came in about 5 p.m. and hiked the 1.3 mile loop around the base. The parking lot was full but it wasn't too crowded during our walk. The visitor center was small but helpful. We ate dinner at Devils Tower View and stayed at Sawin Logs B & B close to the tower. The gift shop across from KOA had a good selection of souvenirs. One of the best things we did was attend the Teddy Roosevelt portrayal put on by the park rangers at the campground amphitheater that evening. We found out about it at the Visitor Center. Before we hit the road the next morning, we wanted to hike around the tower once more and we were so glad we did. Got beautiful pics of the sun hitting the tower and had the place to ourselves and the deer at 6 a.m.! Went back to eat a delicious breakfast at Sawin Logs then went on our way. Fun stop!
