I saw $3.86 at "Prime 1" on Rte 60 in Revere. It's the first time I've seen it under $3.90 in ages. I saw Hess for $3.94 and Mobil for $3.95

In my area 3.99 to 4.09 is the range. Mapquest.com now has a link to gas prices in the area. You key in an address and prices at gas stations in that area come up. Not sure of total accuracy since the prices definitely fluctuate but it will give you an idea. Certainly this is a sign of our times...

Coming from Germany, you will think you have died and gone to heaven with how cheap our gas is in comparison. Factor in the weak dollar and you'll be singing a happy song while you fill the tank.

Thanks to you all!

Yes, you are right, coming from Germany means, that we are used to much higher gas prices as in the US.

I went to the gas station today and guess what I payed (as you know we have liters and Euros but I changed it into gallons and US$) 8,78 US § per gallon!

Crazy, isn´t it - and no end... But I think, we have a lot more smaller cars that need less fuel compared

to the US - that helps. But it´d terrible anyway.

But thinking of US-gas prices, hm, man, did they went up,too. On one of our trips, some years ago, we

payed 0,99 per gallon at a Hess filling station.

O.K., but now we are prepared when coming in October!

quiltlover,

Don't take this the wrong way, or to mean that I want your visit to be more costly than it needs to be. However, I have my fingers crossed that by October, the weak dollar may be a little stronger in antcipation of a much-needed change in November!

You can check this link before you come:

http://gasbuddy.com/

There are sites specific to where you'll be traveling. I check the Maine site each day and decide where to buy gas.
