Traffic to SFO on Friday night?

I want to be at SFO by 845 pm this Friday night, coming from Marriott Marquis. How is traffic on a Friday night? Should I consider BART?

Thanks

traffic at 8 pm won't be bad -- there is always a bit of a merging bottleneck getting out of sf but nothing to cause alarms and you should be able to get to SFO in under 30 . BART if you are alone and can handle bags -- It is a short walk from the Marriott and then you can get to your terminal at SFO quickly as well via the airtrain

You know Google will give you traffic estimates right?

Half an hour sounds about right. Were you going to use Uber/Lyft? BART would take about the same time. Just depends if you want to drag your luggage yourself. I would not hesitate to use Uber/Lyft at that time.

Shouldnt take more than 30 minutes using Uber, so leave between 8-815pm and you will be fine. Fare will only be about $34 give or take.

Agree 30 minutes sounds about right for an auto trip. BART will be about the same (maybe a little longer, but no fears of a fender bender delay) and cheaper, but handling luggage needs to be considered.

I’ll add that BART does run on a schedule and is generally on time so you could time you arrival at the downtown station.

Who is Yale G? Does the OP have two accounts?

I would definitely think about taking BART. For many reasons. It will cost a quarter of the cost of a Lyft. There won't be any traffic or any issues caused by an accident on 101. Your hotel is one block from a BART station. You won't have to make small talk with the driver of the BART. You are helping the environment by taking public transit.
