Courthouse Lawn

I use to work summers for the Forest Service in the Bighorns several decades ago, and on weekends we would go down to Sheridan for supplies and entertainment. We would sit out on the courthouse lawn and people watch. Unlike other towns there were no cat whistles or rude comments for people walking by.

Has Sheridan retained this small town politeness? Do people still sit on the courthouse lawn on warm summer evenings?

Sheridan still has, as you say, small town politeness. The courthouse is on the edge of the downtown area rather than the center of it, so I don't really know whether folks use it as a gathering point. The Mint Bar and Rainbow Bar seem to be center of town now.
