Another thanks for the report. Most people ask questions and then we've got no idea what they did.
"There are rivers everywhere!! Beautiful rivers, big rivers."
WV is "the Mountain State", and as long as it rains that means there are plenty of rivers, including a lot of smaller ones, too. A bit east of your route you'd be in Pocohontas County, which is The Birthplace of Rivers. One of them is the Greenbrier, which is one of the two rivers that join to become the New River, which (of course) is what flows through the gorge and under the bridge. There's even a bumper sticker, fairly common near the gorge and other popular whitewater rivers, that says "Surf West Virginia".
"Sheetz are awesome!"
They are. Their gas prices are usually either the lowest or close to it, and in addition to all the other convenience store items the sandwich department is a great substitute for Subway. Very convenient when you're on the road and don't want to hunt around for a place to grab an easy lunch. Not sure how far east and west you can find them, but they come north to about I-80 in PA.
Great Trip Report.
Glad that you enjoyed WV.
Glad you left a trip report! Sometimes people spend a long time providing info and people just take the info and never do a report. You really made the most of your trip with you son! I'll bet he loved that.
