Visiting from Northern Ireland in Feb

Hi, my wife and I are visiting here in February, can’t wait, we are flying into Toronto and staying at an RCI Resort in Barrie. Could anyone recommend places to rent ski gear? Should I prebook lift passes? Which ski resort for beginner & intermediate? Any restaurant recommendations?

Thanks,

Chris

You're right at Horseshoe and close to Mount St. Louis-Moonstone, the two ski resorts in the Barrie area. Both are definitely for beginner to intermediate skiers only. A longer but still day-trippable drive (an hour each way) will take you to Blue Mountain, where the runs are a little more serious, though it's still not great skiing by global standards. I hope you're not coming all this way for the skiing; Ontario is basically a mountain-free province.

You can rent gear at the ski facilities...
