Monument valley and Grand Canyon

Hi there,

I am planning a trip to the area from the 29th March to April 1st. I have been reading your replies and would really value your opinion. Here is my thinking...

Fly into Phoenix and spend 29th March. Drive out first thing (7am) to flagstaff for breakfast, look around, back on road again to reach monument valley by 2pm/3pm.

Stay 30th at The View, they have availability.

Leave early on 31st and drive to Antelopes or Grand Canyon. Stay at GC.

Leave 1st and drive to Phoenix to make evening flight.

Do able?

I hope you can share some of your wisdom and it would be greatly appreciated.

Skip Antelope Canyon and drive straight to the Gran Canyon on the 31st. It's a much more important site. Try to book a room at one of the lodges inside the park.

Thanks for posting in the forum.

I’m with Connie. Skip Page in favor of more time at Grand Canyon National Park. Book your hotels RIGHT NOW.

Boy that is a lot of driving with very little time at your locations. You are ok with an overnight at Monument Valley, but then you basically want to hit both Antelope Canyons and Grand Canyon in one day. Sure you can drive it, but it is unrealistic to think you can do justice to the time and expense to get there.

I'm with the others. Skip Page. Stay in the park. Look here for lodging:

Thanks all, have updated plan as follows...

30th monument valley and stay over - already booked room.

31st watch sunrise and head out to be at horseshoe bend by 1030/11am...drive down to east rim entrance by 2pm, spend all afternoon in park and do as much as possible...stay in Tusayan the night- already booked room.

1st head back to GC for sunrise and helicopter tour. Leave park by 11am and drive to Sedona.

Do Sedona 3hr tour and then head back to Phoenix, stay the night

Leave 2nd.

Ambitious I know but realistically possible?
