My American nephew is a college student headed to Tully Cross for a semester. Any recommendations for banking/accessing cash while there?

Tully Cross is a very small village. I don't think there is a bank but there may be an ATM in one of the village shops. The nearest bank will most likely be in Clifden. There may also be an ATM in Letterfrack if there isn't one in Tully Cross.
