Aran Islands and Cliffs

3 adults taking day trip to Aran Islands June 18th. Looks like Doolin Ferries takes you to the islands, then back to Doolin; then another boat to Cliffs. The other company has a complete tour and sounds like this makes more sense. Any advice? Should we book this in advance? Other forums say they are looking for your business at the pier.

One more question. We'll be staying in Galway. Just read another forum that said we could fly to the Islands? Opinions? Thanks in advance

From Galway, Faherty Tours cover some great sites and sights on Inis Mór (Inishmore)

You can fly from Iverin (30min drive from the city). Look into flights in advance (Aer Arann Islands). You can travel by boat from Rossaveal in Galway too (about 15 mins further out the same road as Aer Arann).

It sounds like the trip to the islands and the cliffs appeals to you-both companies in Doolin do a similar trip and you can buy the ticket on the day. Best to get a full day or over night to the island(to get a proper feel for the island and enjoy it fully) and then take a tour of the cliffs on the way back or even (or also) take a walk on the cliffs after you return to Doolin.
