christmas in chatanooga

My 24 year old daughter and I are planning an overnight visit to Chatanooga from Atlanta at Christmas time. Any suggestions? We are considering arriving on the 25th.

Arriving on Christmas Day, you will find most activities closed. You can still enjoy the city, Riverwalk, Walnut Street Pedestrian Bridge and Bluff View Arts District. I hope that these websites will help you.

Along the river on the south shore is the Riverwalk, that follows the Tennessee with beautiful scenery and interesting sights along the way. Walk across the Walnut Street Pedestrian Bridge from the South Shore to the North Shore. www.chattanooga.gov/prac/30_1095.htm

Consider the Chanticleer Inn B&B on Lookout Mountain or The Bluff View Inn in The Bluff View Arts District downtown. Both offer very walkable areas of interest and/or charming neighborhoods nearby. Otherwise, businesses will be closed until later in the day/night if at all.
