It's been an unusually hot summer, but this morning there was a crispness to the air! Felt like fall was sneaking up on us! And some of the trees have started shedding leaves and some are turning burgundy already!
So, if you are planning to be a "leaf peeper" this year - you'd best contact some of the Butler B&B's, vacation rental cabins or homes on Watauga Lake in order to stay during the peak color. Which is usually between Oct 10 to 20 although there is still some muted color all the way into the first week or 10 days of November.
Hiking, biking, fishing and even swimming into September are all wonderful in the fall. So come, share the magic of the mountain and enjoy our little piece of paradise.
