Old Butler Days

August 7 and 8 is the 18th year of Old Butler Days. This small town celebration remembers the original town of Butler, now 300 feet under Watauga Lake. "Drowned" by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) in 1948, like the phoenix Butler has arisen and grown.

This year the festival will be having something for everyone: hot dog eating contest, Granny;s musical rockers, a Green parade on Saturday (no motorized vehicles), and music music music.

Of course, food food food as well! Funnel cakes, hamburgers, nachos as well as barbeque, corn bread and soup beans.

There will also be vendors selling everything from maps of Watauga Lake to tin horses.

Come to Butler and let us entertain you in "the mountain way" - as friends of the family.
