House rentals?

We are considering coming to the Myrtle Beach area next summer for a wedding. We'd love to rent a house on the beach or at least very close. Any suggestions about where to look for information about house rentals?

Since you have plenty of time, use it to do your homework to get exactly what you want. Check owner rental sites and local realty companies as well. Ask for rec from previous users, pictures of the exact house you would get, etc, when was last renovation work done, available amenities. Express your interests.

Unless you're independently wealthy, you might be wasting your time searching in MB proper.

Mostly all of the beachfront houses in MB are between 30th & 60th Ave. N. Even across the street, the vast majority of these are opulent multi-million dollar "mansions" that are either not rented out or will cost you a small fortune.

I'd be looking to the north or south, NMB area, Garden City Beach/Murrells Inlet, etc. If it's not too far, Pawley's Island has some modest houses among the beachfront mansions. This is what the NC beach resorts look like.

Surfside Beach has great newer single houses for rent on vrbo.com. You can also find them at Dunes Realty. There are plenty beachfront and across the street. I'm an oceanfront person myself, but if you have to stay across the street, Surfside is the place to do it. It's a quick walk across a 2-lane road & traffic isn't as bad as in MB.

The big question is how many people? Most houses are suited more for the larger vacation parties. Maybe 8-20+.

Are you looking for a house for the wedding or just family attending one?

Section of NMB between Cherry Grove and Ocean Drive called Tighlman section. High dollar houses there. Not on top of each other. Several with large decks and such for wedding parties. Same stretch of beach is popular for weddings on the beach.

Take a look at the houses offered by Seaside Rentals. They only offer "premier" homes in Surfside and Garden City. Most of the homes have private pools. They have all sizes, so not all are expensive, but they are on the newer side and kept up nicely.
