Plane travel to Cedar Point

Is there no way to fly directly to Sandusky? It appears the airport there is not available for commercial flights. Is Cleveland the closest airport, and how would we get to Sandusky from there?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. :)

Cleveland Hopkins is the nearest airport with scheduled flights.

There are shuttle services between the airport and the Breakers Inn. Do a search for "Cedar Point airport shuttle" services. If you have a lot of people in your party, you might be able to negotiate a discount, or rent a car. Cedar Point is less than an hour west of Cleveland Hopkins.

If you don't want to stay at one of the Cedar Point resorts, you likely will want to rent a car.

There are no commercial flights into Sandusky.

Yep, no commercial flights. Check into Cleveland, Toledo (each about a 1 hour drive to Sandusky), or Akron or Detroit (each around a 2 hour drive to Sandusky).

Rental car, taxi (which would be very expensive), or limo service shuttle are your options.

You definitely need to rent a car. Cedar Point is a great resort, but if you are going to be there for a few days, you'll need a car.

CLE is about 55 miles from CP

TOL is 75 miles

DTW is 100 miles

(according to Googel Maps)

DTW will have the most flight options (including directs) from MEX.

CLE will probably have 2nd most flight options, TOL the fewest.

Columbus (CMH) is the other idea. Why? You can visit Kings Island, stay there for a night, then drive up to Sandusky.

I've even gone to Kennywood in the morning, then continued on to CP. More parks to visit.

@robvia, How far is Kennywood from Columbus or from Cedar Point? I'm planning on flying through Columbus in order to visit both Cedar Point and Kings Island, but I hadn't even considered Kennywood.
