Best way travelling to sunpeaks ?

Hello!.. Will be arriving in Vancouver within the first week of November to work the winter season in sunpeaks, wanting to drive from Vancouver the sunpeaks are you able to rent a car just to go one way, if so does anyone recommend any company's ? Other than driving what is the best way to get there ?

Also if anyone knows of where to buy some good quality snow gear that would be some good info

Any help is appreciated, thank you

One way car rental would be costly. Your best alternative is to fly or get a bus service to Kamloops. The mountain operates a shuttle from Kamloops to Sun Peaks, however I'm not sure if your arrival will be before that starts to run.

Anyway, it will be easier to sort out from Kamloops than from Vancouver, so focus on getting that far for a start.

on the snowgear, a place to start could be Sport Chek which is a chain store https://www.sportchek.ca/

then if that does not work look at local shops in Kamloops; that way you are not traveling with all that gear.

I would email the resort and find out if they have an employee blog or message board set up.

Air Canada and Wesjet fly to Kamloops if you add this to your ticket using multi city option you might get a better price than a one way to Kamloops from Vancouver.

the cheaper way would be Greyhound bus.

You might find this site helpful : sunpeaksresort.com/plan-your-trip/…driving

2ndly you don't mention where you are from, so if you have NEVER driven in snow before & the beginning of November it is a possibility, learning to drive in the snow is NOT for the faint of heart or recommended.

Fly into Kamloops or take a Greyhound bus to Kamloops and arrange transport from there to Sun Peaks.

The Greyhound Bus will be your best bet. Its cheap, you get to appreciate the great scenery on the way & you don't want to drive the Coqihala if its snowing. From Kamloops its about a 40 min drive to Sun Peaks. Contact your prospective employer or mountain admin. they may be able to help with a lift to the resort.

For snow gear Sportchek has some great bargains but also check with Jardines in Sun Peaks to see how they can help you. Im sure they will do a great deal for a season employee. They are very good people & I'm sure they will help you out

Another really cheap place for superceded or used snow gear is Consignor Sports in Kamloops. They are not far from the Greyhound depot & they have a lot of quality runout/used snow gear.

You will love Sun Peaks Its a fantastic resort, very friendly & great skiing. Have a great season
